We are pleased to announce the release of early bird registration for the upcoming World Congress for Microcirculation. Early Bird Registration rates are in effect until the end of March: Member rate $625 US, Non-Member $700, Trainee member $350, Trainee non-member $400.
Speakers and chairs of symposia will register using a different link which will be released later this month. The abstract submission site will be released in the next 2-3 weeks.

Accommodation can now be reserved as well with a $300 US deposit. Full payment must be received by August 7. Note that if you stay at the host hotel a $100 US rebate will be applied to your hotel reservation. A variety of rooms are available at reduced rates. Summary:  Improving vascular health is an important goal to pursue, as cardiovascular diseases account for almost half of all deaths in Europe. Disturbances in normal (micro)vascular biology are at the basis of many diseases. From classical cardiovascular diseases, like myocardial infarction and stroke, to cardiometabolic diseases, like dementia, cognitive decline, heart failure, chronic kidney disease, diabetes, hypertension, and to cancer, post-surgical tissue regeneration, and wound healing. This broad range of diseases clearly underlines the need to expand our knowledge on the basic mechanisms underlying the disturbances in normal (micro)vascular biology. With this conference we aim to address many aspects of these mechanisms and implications for clinical practice through state-of-the-art symposia and workshops.

From April 15 to 18, 2019 we welcome you to Maastricht, one of the oldest and certainly most beautiful cities of the Netherlands. Maastricht has for many years a strong basis in cardiovascular research in the CARIM School for Cardiovascular Diseases, which is one of the largest cardiovascular research institutes in Europe.
This, together with the warm and hospitable atmosphere of Maastricht will ensure an exciting and fruitful stay. Cardiovascular diseases are the major cause of death in Europe. The European Society for Microcirculation (ESM) and the European Vascular Biology Organization (EVBO) have the aim to support the experimental and clinical cardiovascular research in the fields of microcirculation and vascular biology. Important areas of research are the pathogenesis of arteriosclerosis as cause of heart attack and stroke, the development of new blood vessels and impaired blood flow in the microcirculation in vascular diseases and diabetes.

From July 1-5, 2018, leading experts and young cardiovascular scientists from all over Europe were meeting at the University Hospital of the TU Dresden. The Summer School was organized by Henning Morawietz from the Division of Vascular Endothelium and Microcirculation of the Department of Medicine III at the University Hospital and Medical Faculty Carl Gustav Carus of the TU Dresden in collaboration with Richard Siow from King’s College London. The TU Dresden and the King’s College London are strategic partners in the TransCampus. The 1st European ESM/EVBO Summer School was substantially supported by TU Dresden’s Internationalisation Strategy.
