COURSE DESCRIPTION

The aim of the practical sessions is to learn the tools of computer communication, the methods of electronic document preparation and solving individual tasks. Exercises provide background knowledge of the process through the presentation of measurement data to the publication of results.

After completing the course, the student will acquire the basic IT skills and techniques needed to assist in documentation, presentation, and various areas of computer communication

The students know the effective and modern presentation techniques and principles of presentation.

Able to create slides in a presentation software, use transitions, animations, timings, and master slides.

Is keen to use presentation techniques he / she became familiar with and strives to produce consistent-looking, easily followable presentations.

Will create individually and present his / her own electronic presentations

Knowledgeable of basic typographic concepts for document editing (line, paragraph, page, indent, space, page break, section break, footer, header) and general document editing principles.

Creates, modifies, and applies styles in a given word processor, inserts graphics, generates a table of contents, an index, creates a bibliography, manages cross-references, and footnotes.

Strives to apply the principles of typography to the production of sophisticated electronic and paper documents.

Is able to solve word processing and document management tasks independently.

Knows the basic concepts, methods and medical implementations of telemedicine.

Able to use basic telemedical tools to measure physiological signals, send and process measured data.

Open to telemedical applications and the use of them development of such tools.

Recognizes the need to integrate telemedicine into the medical care system and is looking for ways to do it individually or in groups to reduce waiting lists and specialist workloads.

 

Evaluation of the acquisition of expected learning outcomes:

The prerequisites for signing the exercises are attending them and writing at least a sufficient level of end-of-semester paper.

Practices can be made by students on their own with tutorials and e-learning materials uploaded to Coospace.

In all cases, the absence shall be certified in accordance with faculty and university regulations.

At the end of the semester, students will have to complete a closed-term paper containing practical assignments. A maximum of 100 points can be gotten when writing it.

Retake is possible at the end of the semester if the load of the classrooms and the schedule of the students allow it, otherwise, it is possible to be done in the exam period.

The result of the class is calculated according to the following table:

  • 0-50 points: failed (1)
  • 51 to 62 points: passed (2)
  • 63-75 points: satisfactory (3)
  • 76-88 points: good (4)
  • 89-100 points: excellent (5)

COURSE DESCRIPTION

The aim of the Informatics Practice is to educate students for the use of modern information technologies for effective research work in life sciences; the theoretical and practical bases of computer-aided data analyses, presentations, preparation of paper- and electronic-based documents.

Syllabus

  1. General information, hardware and software environment of the practice, CooSpace
  2. Introduction to spreadsheets using MS Excel (input and import data, validation, references)
  3. Evaluation of health data with spreadsheets (data types, calculations, functions)
  4. Evaluation of health data with spreadsheets (logical functions, sorting, filtering, vertical lookup)
  5. Evaluation of health data with spreadsheets (special functions, basic statistics, charts)
  6. Evaluation of health data with spreadsheets (tables, regression, pivot table)
  7. Test

 

REQUIREMENTS FOR THE SUCCESSFUL COMPLETION OF THE COURSE

  3. Working with documents, formatting large documents, templates and styles
  4. Advanced document editing, table of contents, captions, table of figures, headers, footers, references
  5. Creating questionnaires, online and offline (paper-based) forms
  6. Telemedical applications
  7. Practical test
